Party like it's 1994

So last night I got to do one of my favorite things as a teacher. I helped chaperone the Noblesville High School prom! It was so fun to see my little 8th graders from 5 years ago all grown up and on their way to graduating. But the highlight was the fashion entertainment. This picture is just a little glimpse into what we were treated with. I know it's a little fuzzy; it was taken on my cell phone, but I thought a feathered hat like this needs to be shared with as many people as possible. And for the record: no, he was not one of my former students! That's my friend/co-worker Alison that I was using as a decoy so I could get the picture. If we had real guts we would have asked to wear the hat and take a picture. Party on!

Family Fun--Ohio Style

We spent Easter weekend with the Dean family (David's sister and brother-in-law). These are pictures of the Dean children at the annual family Easter Egg hunt: Abby (16), Becca (10), Jacob (13), and Aaron (18). You've never seen anything quite like this event. It is cut-throat: running, yelling, tripping, stealing--basically sabotage of eggs at any cost, and all for candy. We loved every minute of it. I think every holiday should have something like this.

Just monkeying around

This is a picture of me and the funniest gorilla I have ever seen. Just before this picture he was drinking a bottle of gatorade--no joke!

Anyway, this is the start of our blog, chronic(what!)alling the adventures of the Wittenbachs. For those who don't know, David and I are expecting our first baby on October 2nd. We are very excited, nervous, curious, and thankful. Everything has gone very well so far. I decided to start putting all of this down so you can stay updated (if you want) on what all goes on with us. If something looks really stupid, it's cause I don't know what I'm doing on a blog yet. Be patient.

We are getting ready to go to David's sister's house in Findlay, Ohio for Easter. It's always fun to see them. Should probably have some good stories from that.

First Try

This is my first posting ever, so I'm just putting stuff down. I want to see if this works.
